Now, an anonymous donor has offered a match, allowing donors to double their impact. That’s right, every new ‘Sponsor A Caregiver’ gift received until Feb. 21 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000.

Through a public records request, we uncovered new details on the Douglas County library debacle, which began in July when Douglas County library director Amy Dodson supported adopting a diversity statement and backing Black Lives Matter.

On Tuesday, the Douglas County Library Board of Trustees authorized a $30,000 investigation into Library Director Amy Dodson following a meeting agenda item in which Dodson proposed the Board formally support Black Lives Matter (BLM).

Since the agenda was issued, Douglas County has appeared in national headlines regarding the ire of Sheriff Dan Coverley over the proposed statement of support. UPDATE 6:23PM: On July 28, 2020 the Douglas County Library Director Amy Dodson and Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley met to discuss the Douglas County Public Library’s proposed statement of diversity. The library board was scheduled to discuss the statement at a public meeting scheduled for July 28, 2020. Sheriff Coverley submitted a written letter for public comment in opposition of the statement.

CARSON CITY — Carson Tahoe Health recently received an emergency COVID-19 response grant in the amount of $98,960 from the William N. Pennington Foundation. The grant will contribute to needed equipment for Carson Tahoe during this dynamic virus outbreak.

After spending over a week in horrible pain, a local quad-county resident was finally able to secure a COVID-19 test. However, the situation became all that more complicated when the test was administered incorrectly by Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS).

CCHHS admitted to the error, and has rescheduled a second test to be performed today.
