Owners of former Jack’s Bar in Carson City to host groundbreaking ceremony in April

The inaugural Rockin’ Rib Fest at Fandango begins this afternoon and runs until Monday, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to sample some grilled bbq. The Proscenium Players begin their run of ‘The Hit’ in the Brewery Arts Center’s Black Box Theater; break a leg. Lend a hand to our various Veterans’ organizations this afternoon as they plant flags on the graves of those who served in the Lone Mountain Cemetery: many hands make light work.
CCAI Industrial Art at the Library
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 09/28/2015 - 3:05pmEmbracing the area's design and manufacturing community, the Capital City Arts Initiative's [CCAI] exhibition, Industrial Art, is now at the Carson City Library. The show, previously at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery, will be available at the Library through November 19.
The Library will host a public reception for Industrial Art on Friday, October 2, 3:30-5pm in honor of Manufacturer's Month [October]. The Library’s MT1 training room and the Digitorium will also feature students’ manufacturing activities during the open house event.
Tuesday, June 9: Things to do in Carson City

There is chance of rain this afternoon, so spend some time indoors checking out the new exhibit in the CCAI Courthouse Gallery. ‘Industrial Art’ presents the design work of five manufacturers in the the area including American AVK, CGI Inc., Click Bond Inc., Silver State Stainless, and Vineburg Machining Inc. The official opening reception is Friday at 5 p.m. Or enjoy the art at the Nevada Arts Council, inside the BRIC building on Proctor, inside the Sierra Room of the Community Center, or in the two galleries at the Brewery Arts Center.
TUESDAY:
- One Putt Jr. Academy at Silver Oak Golf Course (7:45am sign in, 8am-10am; $40 per class or $200 for six classes: includes Green Fees, Pull Cart, Golf Clubs, Gatorade; space limited, ages 7-12)

CCAI will host a reception for the show on Friday, June 12, 5-7pm including a short introduction of the exhibition participants at 5:30pm.

Space tech, manufacturing conferences highlight Nevada's future industries

This year’s conference will be held on Oct. 1-2 at John Ascuaga’s Nugget in Sparks. The event has been expanded to feature an Unmanned Aircraft Systems/Unmanned Aerial Vehicles conference with some of the field’s top experts, as well as showcasing exhibit booths both days.

The events are being hosted by the Northern Nevada Development Authority, Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, and Nevada Industry Excellence. The conferences feature the field's top experts, as well as showcasing exhibit booths both days.
Local Companies Recognized at the NNDA Pioneer Awards
Submitted by admin on Thu, 09/26/2013 - 10:45amOn September 24, 2013 the Northern Nevada Development Authority held their Pioneer Awards event, recognizing new businesses that have relocated to Nevada along with those that have expanded in the past 12 months. This signature event also saw the largest attendance for this event in NNDA history with over 340 celebrating these announcements. In addition to this annual recognition businesses were selected in 9 different categories. For six weeks NNDA collected over 50 nominees in those categories with the winners being announced at the Pioneer Awards Banquet.
