Sixteenth annual Feast of Chocolate fundraiser set for Valentine's Day

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 at the front desk of the Plaza Hotel or $18 at the door. The event is hosted by the American Association of University Women, which empowers women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. Money raised will go to scholarships.
Miss Representation Screening at WNC

The screenings will be held at the Marlette Hall on the Carson City, WNC campus from 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18 and from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20.

Clarissa will graduate in June and plans to attend UNR majoring in pharmaceuticals. Annie will graduate from Dayton High in May and will begin her college at WNC. From there she plans to earn a BS as a nutritionist and then attend medical school.

AAUW Capital Branch Awards Scholarships

Mary Longero, graduating from Carson High, plans to attend the University of Nevada, Reno to study Nutritional Science, which will put her on the pre-med track.
Chyanne Corley, a senior at Dayton High, will begin her studies at Western Nevada College where she will complete an Associate Degree. She will then continue her education at the University of Portland majoring in Psychology.

AAUW, a nationwide network of more than 100,000 members and donors, advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. The Capital Branch does fundraising each year to present scholarships to local college-bound women.
