A Family Law Series: Understanding Child Support Basics

There is little argument that every child needs financial and emotional support to grow and flourish. As the parent, it is your duty to support your children from the time of birth, including pregnancy and birth related expenses, until the child reaches the age of majority (in Nevada, 18 years of age) and is no longer enrolled in high school.

Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada gives preview of new Carson City teen center

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada offered a glimpse of its new William N. Pennington Teen Center on Monday ahead of its June 23 grand opening celebration.

Funded by a $1.2 million naming gift from the William N. Pennington Foundation of Reno and donations from the community, the Club broke ground on the Carson City teen center in October 2015.

Carson City dines Hawaiian-style, raises $254,000 for Boys and Girls Clubs

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada hosted their annual fundraiser, “World’s Greatest Luau and Kids’ Auction” on Sunday in Carson CIty with more than 700 attending.

This year the event was a luau theme, complete with mai tais, a roasted pig, and Club member entertainment. Marv Teixeira, former Carson City mayor, was presented with the first-ever “Distinguished Service Award” for his commitment to the Club and the youth in Carson City.

Saddle Up For KIds Event a Success

Food For Thought would like to think all the people who came out and supported us at our Saddle Up For Kids Events. Friday, June 28th’s dinner at the Governor’s Mansion and Saturday, June 29th’s Carnival at Mills Park wouldn’t have been as successful if not for our volunteers!
