Carson City sheriff's summer crime initiative results in drug seizures, arrests and citations
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office would like to thank and update the community on the 101 Days of Summer Initiative. Over the past 101 days of summer, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team provided information on resources for addiction, DMV information, and assistance with minor traffic warrants.
Also, as a part of Sheriff Ken Furlong's Initiative of "101 Days of Safe Summer," this year we teamed up with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office on Marine IX for added patrol attention to the Carson City waters and shorelines of Lake Tahoe.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office received an incredible amount of community support during the last 101 days of summer, according to Sheriff Furlong. "I encourage you to continue to reach out with tips and or information on what’s happening in your neighborhoods. One phone call may prevent an overdose or initiate a referral to the Mobile Outreach Safety Team (MOST) program. Your call may deter or could help solve a crime."
During the initiative the Carson City Sheriff’s Office made the following impact in our community:
Misdemeanor arrests: 88
Felony arrests: 100
Methamphetamine seizures: 188.00 grams
Heroin seizures: 156.00 grams
Marijuana seizures: 330.4 grams.
Cocaine seizures: 108 grams.
Search Warrants served: 12
Cash seizures from suspected drug sales: $12,351.00
Drug Endangered Children Cases, Child Abuse: 8
Traffic Citations: 762
Boat Hours at Lake Tahoe: 380 hours
Let’s keep working towards a safer Carson City.
