Carson City Con Man arrested after stealing over $67,000 from girlfriend
Carson City deputies arrested Timothy George Heney Jr. on a warrant issued out of Carson City for multiple felony counts involving grand theft, identity theft, and more.
According to the criminal complaint, Heney stole the identity of his then-girlfriend sometime between April 2019 and Aug. 2019, and used it to access her bank accounts as well as retirement accounts, leading to a loss of over $67,000.
The string of thefts began on April 16, 2019, when Heney allegedly accessed his girlfriend’s retirement account and withdrew $3,150 and deposited them into his own account.
The complaint further alleges that on May 1, 2019, Heney committed the crime of grand theft, a Category B Felony, by taking approximately $4,500 from his girlfriend’s retirement account and depositing them in his own account.
Two weeks later on May 15, 2019, Heney again accessed his girlfriend’s retirement account and withdrew $20,700, and deposited the funds into his own account.
Three weeks after that on June 5, 2019, Heney then took $28,000 from his girlfriend’s retirement account and once again deposited the funds into his own account, according to the complaint.
This continued on July 23, 2019 for an amount of $5,313.77 and then again on August 20, 2019, for an amount of $5,443.38, which would be the final withdrawal.
