Ag and Artisan Holiday Faire showcases Carson area artisans, supports local students
Agriculture and art meet to showcase the region’s artisans and ag students at the 2nd Annual Ag & Artisan Holiday Faire Saturday, Dec. 3, at the historic Storke Dairy, 876C Centerville Lane in Gardnerville, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event features exhibits and demonstrations from Douglas County 4-H, Grange and FFA students including horsemanship, poultry, cattle, sheep and beehives, an exhibit of antique farm implements found on the property during renovations, roping demonstrations and free hayrides.
Inside the barn, local artisans will have hand-crafted items for sale, including turned wood, fine arts paintings and Zentangle art, photography, jewelry, handmade breads and local honey, garden and home décor and more.
Hungry Hearts Nevada will be on-site for food purchases. Snacks, hot cocoa and beer will be sold to benefit ag education in Douglas County.
Proceeds from a silent auction for a block of hay donated by Ahern Rentals will also be donated to the Douglas County 4-H Club. Silent auction begins at 10 a.m. and the winner will be announced at 3:30 p.m.
