Pins for the Porch: Bowl-A-Thon and Silent Auction Dec. 3 at Home Grown Bowl, formerly Carson Lanes
The Porch Movement – a local 501c3 non-profit created to uproot the loneliness epidemic and build community - hosts a fundraiser on Sunday, Dec. 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Home Grown Bowl, 4600 Snyder Ave., Carson City.
“We invite neighbors from Carson Valley, Carson City, and surrounding areas to join us for some family fun while supporting our effort to uproot the loneliness epidemic and build more connected and resilient communities,” said The Porch Movement founder/organizer Tammy Claughton.
Donations, donated services, themed gift baskets, lessons of all kinds, art, and more will raise funds to create A Hub For Community to bring neighbors together, all while supporting local businesses.
The fundraiser includes a silent auction, food, drinks, music and a friendly individual and team bowling competition.
“We encourage Porch and neighbors from Carson Valley, Carson City, and the surrounding communities to come out for an afternoon of fun for a great cause – to support your community’s neighborhood Porch Project," Claughton said.
The 35,000 goal of the 501(c)3 will directly support Open Porch neighborhood events and help create a hub for community.
