Friends of the Nevada State Museum assist facilities department with ATV donation
The Friends of the Nevada State Museum continue to support the Museum and its mission to serve the community and state. At the Sept. 7 Friends of the Nevada State Museum meeting the membership approved the purchase of a Polaris ATV that will be donated to the Museum. The ATV will include a snowplow attachment, winch, and trailer ball and will be used by facility staff.
Facilities Supervisor Albert Depew stated the new equipment will be used to clear the sidewalk areas surrounding the museum and the adjacent parking lot, the snow removal at the Marjorie Russell Clothing and Textile Center, and the Indian Hills Curatorial Center. This will greatly reduce the time that was spent doing this by hand.
FNSM Chair Jan Davis acknowledged the Facilities team’s great work ethic as evident in the museum’s wonderful physical condition and the reduced financial resources available to the Museum due to the pandemic. The Friends of the Nevada State Museum are pleased to continue their support of the Museum with this major donation.
In the past, Friends donations have included a defibrillator, chairs, chair storage carriers, gallery lighting, audio, sound system, window shades for the Dema Guinn Concourse, and frequently helps purchase supplies for educational activities.
