Uncirculated 1884 Carson City Morgan silver dollar raffle highlights Silver State Speakeasy event
An uncirculated 1884 Carson City Morgan silver dollar will highlight a raffle during the Friends of the Nevada State Museum fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 22. The coin, donated by Northern Nevada Coin, will be raffled off during the Silver State Speakeasy event in the Nevada Room of the Governor’s Mansion.
Raffle tickets for the Morgan silver dollar are $5 and are currently available at Museum Store. They will also be available the night of the event
During the fundraiser, a number of other prizes will also be raffled off. These include a round of golf for four at Silver Oak Golf Course, a 20-person catering event by Firehouse Subs, a vintage, numbered Lake Tahoe print, a $50 gift card from the Greenhouse Garden Center, a VIP wine tasting for four at two wineries, and many, many more. Tickets for these raffles are only available on the night of the event at the Silver State Speakeasy.
Other highlights of the evening will be a visit by Chautauqua presenter Kim Harris as Lillian Finnigan, the suffragist. The night will also feature some of the Friends - Ron Roberts as George Wingfield, Bev Wickel as Anne Hudnall Martin, Dave Pierson as Jim Ferguson, and Kathy Pierson as Belle. A prize from a local business for the best costume worn by a guest will be determined by the cast during the event.
A limited number of event tickets are still available ($35 for dinner and the show) at the Nevada State Museum Gift Shop. Doors open at 4 pm for dinner, no-host bar and raffle. The show begins at 5:15 pm.
All proceeds support the Friends of the Nevada State Museum, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization.
