Grocery Outlet in Dayton Joins July Independence from Hunger Campaign
The Grocery Outlet Bargain Market has launched its annual July Independence From Hunger Food Drive to combat hunger. The month-long campaign will collect cash donations and pre-made bags of nonperishable foods in-store at more than 400 U.S. locations to be distributed to local food agencies partners.
All of the independently owned and operated Grocery Outlet stores across the nation are committed to giving back to their communities and have partnered locally to bring the community together in fighting food insecurity.
In Dayton, Nevada, all donations of cash and food to the local Grocery Outlet will be distributed directly to Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties, a nonprofit operating the busy Dayton Food Pantry on Dayton Valley Road.
Kathleen Knight notes that the July campaign is “such a worthy cause, with so many struggling with hunger.” She explained that she and her husband Daniel, owners/operators of the Grocery Outlet in Dayton, are “excited to support folks in need. It touches our hearts every time we think about it.”
