The Brother Dan Show welcomes guitarist Gary Fritz, June 6
The Brother Dan Show welcomes guitarist Gary Fritz, June 6. This Monday, June 6, guitarist Gary Fritz joins host Brother Dan Palmer to make music and talk about his musical life. The music starts at 4:30pm at the Bank Saloon in Carson City, and the show is available to online audiences at 5:00pm on Facebook at the host’s music page: Brother Dan Palmer
Monday’s featured guest, Gary Fritz, plays both acoustic and electric guitar, and was inspired as a child by his older brother’s playing, which began his musical explorations. Picking up licks and tricks from local players eventually led to a long string of jam bands. With an affinity for Southern Rock and influenced by bands including Marshall Tucker, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Outlaws, Gary eventually landed in local band Stonewood, where local audiences may have heard him perform.
Priding himself on getting great sounds from a simple guitar/amp combo without pedals and effects, Fritz currently appears locally with local band blues Randy and the G-Men, which consists of a drummer named Randy and three guys (including him) named Gary.
Bank Saloon, at 418 S. Carson St., features a variety of live music throughout the week, and times vary. On Mondays, local restaurant (and show sponsor) Mangia Tutto provides free munchies during The Brother Dan Show, to accompany the craft cocktails that this historic local venue is known for.
