Suicide Prevention Network's 'Hike for Hope' campaign to include community Genoa walk Sept. 10
Nevada’s suicide rate is currently ranked 5th in the nation; there is no question about the devastating effects of suicide, or the countless lives shattered by it.
Suicide Prevention Network aims to be a champion in decreasing suicide and its impact on our community by providing suicide prevention and awareness through education, intervention, and support services for all.
Our annual awareness event, Hike for Hope, takes place May 19 and runs through Sept 19, 2022.
Hike for Hope is a four-month challenge to hike, walk, or run for those in our lives who have been affected by suicide. Individuals and groups of up to 10 log miles via ultrasignup.com and strive toward prizes in each category.
During this event, teams can post photos of those they hike for, participate in weekly awareness “talking Tuesdays”, attend our annual Suicide Prevention Day Genoa Walk on Sept. 10, and celebrate their accomplishments at a BBQ and awards gathering on Sept. 22, 2022.
