Democratic tele-luncheon to mark Earth Day with a presentation on the impacts of climate change
The featured speaker at Monday's Carson City Democratic tele-luncheon will be Chas Macquarie of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby. In honor of Earth Day, his presentation will lay out the scientific fundamentals of climate change, the ample evidence that it's happening right now all around us, and public policy proposals with the potential to slow the rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide.
This is part two of a three-part series on climate change, which started April 12th with a presentation by psychiatrist Beth Haase on the health consequences of atmospheric warming. Part three, on April 26th, will be a presentation by Craig Downer on the impact climate change is having on Nevada's wild horses.
Sponsored by the Democratic Men's Committee, this event is scheduled for noon on Monday, April 19th, and will be held online via Zoom teleconference due to masking and social distancing restrictions at in-person venues. Those wishing to be on distribution for these Zoom links should email Rich Dunn, Men's Committee Events Coordinator, at richdunn@aol.com.
