2 Northern Nevada Professionals Elected to NCET Board, 4 Professionals Re-Elected

Peter Fishburn and Bruce Robertson have been elected to the board of directors of NCET, a member-supported non-profit that produces educational and networking events to help people explore businesses and technology.
Jon Edmondo, Andy Jorgensen, Henry Merschel and Dave Zybert have been re-elected to the board.
Fishburn, elected as vice president of Tech Wednesdays, has worked nearly 27 years as a regional representative in northern Nevada for Brown & Bigelow, a promotional products company.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure services from California State University, Northridge, and earned a master’s degree in business from Golden Gate University.
Fishburn has been active in numerous regional organizations, including Chambers of Commerce in Carson City and Reno, the Northern Nevada Development Authority, and Rotary.
Robertson, elected vice president of finance and Web services for NCET, is a retired captain with Mountain Lion Aviation of Truckee who lives in Reno.
Previously, he worked more than 40 years in information technology — beginning with his discovery of Internet predecessor Arpanet in the late 1970s — and was the founder and president of Great Basin Internet Services in Reno.
Robertson enjoys reading and outdoors activities such as camping, cycling, kayaking and skiing.
Edmondo, re-elected as co-vice president of Tech Wednesdays, works as director of sales for industrial labels at iGraphics Precision Printing.
He has more than 25 years of experience managing successful sales and marketing organizations for small and large corporations in the electronics, printing, graphics and financial services industries.
Edmondo earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the University of the Pacific and an MBA from Ohio University.
Jorgensen, re-elected as vice president of creative services for NCET, does IT for startups, and graphic design. He is currently the IT Lead at Flirtey, a drone-delivery startup based in Reno.
Jorgensen previously did IT at Rehearsal and directed the Nevada Ready 21 program at the Nevada Department of Education, has been a K-12 technology director and computer science teacher, works as a freelancer, and is the bassist in the local art-rock band, Schizopolitans.
Merschel, re-elected as vice president of metrics and analytics, is the digital strategist for The Abbi Agency, where he develops meaningful insights from large amounts of raw data that is collected by integrated marketing and PR efforts.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from San Francisco State University and holds certifications in software including Hubspot and Google Analytics.
Zybert, re-elected as NCET’s vice president of creative services, recently retired as special events coordinator at the Nugget Casino Resort.
He held management positions with marketing and media companies in northern Nevada for nearly 25 years and is the president of D-Zine Services, a marketing and social-media company in Reno.
Zybert also has served as an actor, director and producer with theater groups throughout northern Nevada and has served as public information chair and communications chair with Rotary International District 5190
