Progressive advocate to speak at Democratic luncheon
The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Amber Falgout, Northern Nevada Manager of Battle Born Progress. Her presentation will provide an assessment of bills before the 82nd session that deserve progressive support and others that might be inconsistent with progressive values.
On the Battle Born Progress website, the headline is "We Fight the Right in Nevada." Its mission statement says that it "uses strategic communication efforts to empower, engage and mobilize Nevada voters to build a state where everyone has a fair opportunity to succeed."
In January BBP hosted the 9th annual Progressive Summit. At this well-attended two-day event, advocates from all over the state came together to discuss current issues and share ideas on how to achieve real progressive victories. One sponsor and keynote speaker at that event was Silicon Valley congressman Ro Khanna.
Battle Born Progress is a 501(c)(4) affiliate of ProgressNow State Partners, which is made up of multi-issue advocacy organizations in many states across America. They promote progressive ideas and causes year-round with creative earned media strategies, targeted email campaigns, and cutting-edge new media. Working collaboratively, they have significantly improved communication efforts of the entire progressive community, generating thousands of stories in local, state, and national press.
Sponsored by the Democratic Men's Committee, this event is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, February 13th, and can be attended either in person at Black Bear Diner, inside Max Casino, or online via Zoom. Amber's presentation will begin after all the lunch orders have been taken, around 1:30. Those wishing to be on distribution for luncheon Zoom links should contact Rich Dunn at richdunn@aol.com.
