Carson City FISH Revitalization Project to have dorms, commercial building ready by Nevada Day

Construction on the FISH Revitalization Project is currently underway in downtown Carson City at the site of the former Whistle Stop Inn.

The dormitories are slated to be move-in ready and completed by August, with a commercial building to open by October in time for Nevada Day, according to Jim Peckham, executive director of Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH.

Carson City emergency crews respond to crash at William and Stewart

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called early Wednesday evening to William and Stewart streets for a vehicle crash initially reported as involving at least two vehicles and a pedestrian.

Wild Horse Children’s Theater presents the Northern Nevada premiere of the Tony and Academy Award winning musical, Oliver! JR.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Wednesday afternoon to a vehicle crash that happened just after 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fifth and Roop Street.

Free holiday concert Sunday features Capital City Community Band

Holiday with a Hero hosts fundraisers leading up to annual Carson City shopping spree

Holiday with a Hero has been serving Carson City students for two decades, pairing local heroes (responders from numerous professions) and students together in order to provide them with a shopping spree in time for the holidays.

Holiday with a Hero is on its 18th year of shopping, and this year, their goal is to serve 230 students.
