The meeting commences at 10:00 a.m. and all Lyon County residents and those new to the area are invited to attend.
Carson City man charged with 7 counts sexual assault, kidnapping with a deadly weapon

A Carson City man was booked Tuesday into Carson City Jail and charged with seven counts of sexual assault and kidnapping with a deadly weapon, according to a sheriff's office booking report.
Tamarack Fire update Wednesday: 59 percent contained, more evacuations lifted

U.S. Forest Service fire management reports 59 percent containment of the Tamarack Fire as of Wednesday morning, with a size of 68,393 acres.
Humboldt-Toiyabe districts of Forest Service move to Stage 2 fire restrictions for Nevada, California

In response to the current and growing risk of wildfire, the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest’s Bridgeport and Carson Ranger Districts are elevating current fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective Thursday, including all district lands in California and Nevada.

Mask Mandate returns for Carson City and 11 other counties following high rates of transmission of COVID-19

On Tuesday, Governor Steve Sisolak stated that mask mandates would be returning to 12 of Nevada's 17 counties including Carson City due to a high rate of transmission of the Delta variant of COVID-19.
Douglas County to provide recovery services to residents affected by Tamarack Fire

MINDEN — Douglas County is actively moving to a recovery phase from the Tamarack Fire after all evacuations were lifted on July 26, 2021. Both shelter locations have been closed, allowing Douglas County to focus on providing recovery resources to residents who have been impacted by the fire.
