Quad County, Carson City COVID-19 Wednesday briefing: 20 new cases, 70 recoveries

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Wednesday, March 31, 2021 that there are 20 new cases and 70 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad County region. This brings the total number of cases to 11,890, with 10,992 recoveries and 222 deaths; 676 cases remain active.

Nine Carson City churches are joining together to hold a Good Friday Ecumenical Service on April 2, 2021. The service will begin at noon and will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 411 N. Saliman Road in Carson City, just south of Carson High School.
Carson City Board of Supervisors to disperse $240,000 in grants for youth, adult programs

The next Carson City Board of Supervisor’s meeting will take place Thursday, April 1 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Robert ‘Bob’ Crowell Board Room in the Carson City Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

A Carson City man, arrested in July 2016 for the death of an elderly Newport Beach, Calif. man, was convicted Tuesday of first-degree murder.

According to the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s February 2021 economic report, Nevada’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.3 percent in February 2021, higher than the 3.7 percent that Nevada had in February 2020.

A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of felony embezzlement after allegedly stealing an estimated four pounds of marijuana from a marijuana cultivation company, a Carson City sheriff's booking report states.
