NHP and law enforcement statewide join forces in campaign to stop pedestrian deaths

UNR Extension's 4-H Youth Development Program connects STEM to shooting sports
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 02/21/2021 - 1:52pmAiming to connect STEM principles with shooting sports, Extension’s 4-H Youth Development Program has launched a virtual workshop series that teaches youth about physics through disciplines such as archery, air pistol, muzzleloader, shotgun and rifle. This first-of-its-kind program in Nevada, was adapted from curriculums from 4-H programs in Colorado and Idaho, making the science, technology, engineering and math connection using the popular sport.
Carson City Library opens Monday with regular hours

WNC graduates first paramedic students at Saturday ceremony in Carson City

The graduates are now eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician National Certification Test, according to WNC’s Emergency Medical Services and Paramedic Program Coordinator Terry Mendez.

Hot air balloon stranded briefly near C-Hill in Carson City
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 02/21/2021 - 10:40amA hot air balloon was briefly stranded on Sunday morning near C-Hill in Carson City. Sheriff's deputies were notified. No one was injured, according to Carson City Sheriff's Office dispatch.
According to Jennifer Myers, who took the photos, the balloon was able to take off after having landed briefly near homes, with the balloon company headed toward a church parking lot with their trailer to rescue it.
Senator Square: More art winners, Carson High juniors to take American College Test

According to J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, “We do not need magic to transform our world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already.”

We will be adventuring up to the Boy Scout Overlook on Prison Hill from the 5th St. Trailhead and learning about the cultural history of Prison Hill.
NHL Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche game at Tahoe delayed due to sunny conditions

On Sunday one game resumes Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers. The match will air 4:30 p.m. and is subject to change due to ice safety conditions. NBCSN, Sportsnet and TVA Sports will provide live coverage.

On Saturday, the NHL hosted an outdoor game in Lake Tahoe at Edgewood between Nevada's own Vegas Golden Knights against the Colorado Avalanche.
The weather originally called for an overcast day with a bit of snow, but what they found was a cloudless blue sky, with lots of sun.
