Last day of the decade! I feel peaceful, which is not what I felt at all at the beginning of this pivotal decade. I’m thinking about me in 2010. So different! The progression this decade has been significant. I have a challenge for you all. Write out the highlights of each decade. Map your progress. What can you learn from the last decade?

Carson City man pleads guilty in Dec. 3 standoff with SWAT

A Carson City man who shot inside a Morgan Mill residence earlier this month while an elderly family member hid in the home, forcing a standoff in which SWAT responded, pled guilty in Carson City court to felony assault with a deadly weapon, according to the district attorney's office.

Truck used in Dayton ATM theft located; suspect still at large

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office announced they have located the truck involved in the most recent ATM burglary that occurred in Dayton last week, but the suspect is still at large.

Carson City emergency crews called to crash on Highway 395 near Spooner Junction

Carson City Fire Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called Tuesday afternoon to a vehicle crash south of Spooner Junction on Highway 395.

Carson Mall to host Bingo night to benefit Pop Warner Cheer Squad

NV Energy urges not to launch mylar balloons during New Year's revelry

Early New Year's morning in Carson City circa 1999-2000, a mylar balloon was launched shortly after midnight, knocking out power to thousands of electricity customers around town. The power outage was confusing to many as the nation and world were, at the time, concerned about Y2K issues. The incident generated plenty of conversation around the water cooler during the days that followed.
