Thursday Night Cruise returns for car show to benefit Carson City area Salvation Army

Thursday Night Cruise will be having a Car Show on Sept. 14 at The Salvation Army’s 911 E. 2nd St. Carson City location to benefit The Salvation Army Building Fund.

The show is open to all cars, trucks and motorcycles. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, place plus Best Show Awards, food, music and more.

Muscle Powered to host Saturday hike to Marlette Lake

Join Muscle Powered on the last Saturday in August for a beautiful hike to Marlette Lake. The hike begins from the Spooner Lake parking lot, travels north on North Canyon Road, and continues onto the single-track trail north to Marlette Lake.

Carson Mall Bingo to benefit Jimenez Brothers

On Sunday, July 14 the Jimenez brothers were involved in a head-on collision with other friends. This occurred during a return trip from Las Vegas. Alberto Jimenez surfed a broken femur along with a serious facial laceration. His brother Alejandro Jimenez will need physical therapy to strengthen his body after the crash.

Carson Mall to host 'Cruise for School Supplies' drive this Friday

Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest welcomes new Carson District Ranger

CARSON CITY — The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest welcomes Matthew Zumstein as the new District Ranger for the Carson Ranger District. In his new position, Zumstein will provide oversight of the staff and resources needed to manage over 400,000 acres of National Forest System lands in the eastern Sierra region of northeastern Nevada and eastern California.

Story Time Adventures Returns to the Children's Museum

The Children's Museum's NEA, Nevada Arts Council funded Story Time program returns Sept 6, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. The program will normally be scheduled on Fridays and will be presented by Jennifer Ringwood Anderson. Ms. Anderson is a gifted and passionate story teller and Montessori specialist having taught at High Desert Montessori, Carson Montessori, and the Brendon Montessori School in Billings, New York.

WNC recognizes 46 students on Summer Dean’s List

Western Nevada College is proud to announce that 46 students have been named to the 2019 Summer Dean’s List.
To earn this distinction during the summer term, students attained a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and completed six units of classes or more.
