Christmas tree tags nearly sold out on Eldorado National Forest
Submitted by editor on Tue, 11/27/2018 - 4:05pmPLACERVILLE, Calif. — There are less than 300 Christmas tree tags remaining out of the 4,500 that were available through the Eldorado National Forest Christmas tree permit program this year. The Placerville Ranger Station has already run out. As of this morning, the Forest Supervisor's office still had 175 tags; the Georgetown Ranger Station had 100 tags; and the Amador Ranger Station had 40 tags.
From Carson City to Dayton: Be a Santa to a Senior
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 11/27/2018 - 3:40pmBeginning Tuesday, Nov. 27 until Dec. 11, 2018 Home Instead Senior Care and Center for Healthy Aging have set up their trees, and placed the tags for our seniors.
These are seniors, who are in homes, and have no one to celebrate the holidays with. Our community from Carson City to Dayton and in between have been absolutely wonderful by getting a tag, and filling the wishes for our Seniors here.
We have trees set up at Dayton Smith's, Paradise Salon, Les Schwab and United Federal Credit Union (off of Topsy), and AAA.

Carson City Fire Department to perform prescribed fire operations at base of C Hill

Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 27 the Carson City Fire Department was scheduled to conduct wildland fuels reduction prescribed fire operations at the base of C Hill in the area of Kingsview Way and Canterbury Lane.
