Come and join us for our weekly one hour walks to enjoy Nevada outdoors around Carson City! Meet at Moffat Open Space parking area on Hells Bells Road and Parkhill Drive. Water and closed-toe shoes required.

All walks are 1 to 2 miles with duration of 1 hour with usually negligible elevation gain, and frequently on paved or smooth paths. Carson Middle School students sign pledge in honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

During their Wednesday lunch hour, students at Carson Middle School took a pledge to help others struggling with suicidal thoughts in honor of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

The pledge was to "Acknowledge, Care and Tell." Acknowledge the feelings of others, tell them you care, and tell an adult.

The number of homeless adults and children continues to rise in Carson City. No one wants to be left alone and with nothing in the cold.

Every drop counts, so give what you can during the donation drive held Oct. 15 through Oct. 28, 2018 in Carson City.

Items needed: Blankets, sleeping bags, toiletry items, feminine hygiene, towels, socks, gloves, scarves, coats, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

State park fees waived Saturday as part of Nevada Public Lands Day celebration

CARSON CITY — Nevada residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Nevada Public Lands Day this Saturday, Sept. 29 with a “fee-free” day at Nevada’s State Parks. Park fees, including entrance, camping, Saturday night, and boating, where applicable, will be waived at state parks throughout Nevada.

Carson City man jailed after allegedly hitting juvenile with vehicle, leaving the scene

A 58-year-old Carson City man was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor hit and run and having no current proof of insurance after an incident Tuesday morning in which a juvenile was hit by a vehicle and left the scene.
