Carson City arrests: Deputies arrest pair after meth found

Two men were arrested Friday afternoon on felony drug charges after a meth pipe and a testable amount of meth inside was recovered, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Beginning Saturday, March 25 the Carson City Fire Department will allow open burning with a permit through April 23, 2017. The purpose of the open burn period is to provide residents an opportunity to dispose of accumulated weeds and yard debris.

Prescribed burning set to resume around Lake Tahoe

The California Tahoe Conservancy, Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District, California State Parks and the U.S. Forest Service are planning on continuing prescribed fire operations on Monday, March 27, depending on conditions.

NDOW: Wolf sighted in Northwestern Nevada

A wolf from the Shasta Pack in Northern California was spotted near Fox Mountain in northwestern Nevada in early November, 2016. Nevada Department of Wildlife personnel investigated the sighting after being alerted to a video recording of the apparent wolf.
