Forest Service at Lake Tahoe to host information meetings on snowmobile use planning

The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit will soon begin the planning process to designate National Forest System areas for snowmobile use in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

A Search and Rescue team from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office found the body of Carolyn Batchelor, the Zephyr Cove woman who was reported missing on Feb. 17.

Patricia (Patty) Marie (Mummey) Welden, 54, was born May 9, 1961 in Bethesda, Maryland. She said goodbye to this life and left for Heaven on February 28, 2016.

Patty grew up in a Navy family and moved around quite a bit in her life.

Patty spent 4 years in the United States Air Force. She was stationed in Lackland AFB, Suwon AFB, in South Korea, as well as Mather and Norton Air Force Bases, both in California.

Patty graduated from the University of Western Florida in Pensacola with a BS in Education.

Carson City Early Childhood Expo is this Saturday

The Carson City Early Childhood Advisory will host the second annual free Early Childhood Expo Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada.

The Early Childhood Expo is organized by the Carson City Early Childhood Advisory to provide a free community event to share early childhood information and resources in Carson City.

Carson City emergency crews called to vehicle crash on East Fifth Street

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Monday afternoon to a crash involving three vehicles in the 1000 block of East Fifth Street.
Traffic along 5th Street has been diverted at Carson Meadows and eastbound traffic was being diverted, according to emergency responders on scene.
