Suspects at large, Amador County man dead after drug deal shooting in South Lake Tahoe

WNC Baseball: Wildcats Bounce Back with 18-Hit Attack

A day after collecting just three hits, the Wildcats of Carson City totaled 18 hits, including three home runs, in a 15-5 rout of the Cougars in Phoenix.
DJ Peters, Justin Mannens and Daniel Nist each homered and combined for 10 hits and nine RBI as the Wildcats made amends for a 6-3 defeat to the Cougars on Saturday.
"It was an incredible offensive explosion," said WNC coach D.J. Whittemore.

Carson City businesses pour out oil, vinegar and love to homeless

Last month, noted area Chef Don Pepe, owner of Carpa Nevada LLC, sold more than $1,000 worth of his fine imported Portuguese olive oil and balsamic vinegars through Downtown Coin in Carson City.
The entire proceeds, totaling $400 in profit, were then donated to “Pets of the Homeless,” a Carson City-based non-profit organization that helps provide food and veterinary care for homeless companions nationwide.
