Douglas authorities seek public help in finding runaway teen
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 03/04/2013 - 12:32pmThe Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a 16-year-old female who ran away from her Minden home and has been missing for about a week.
On Feb. 23, Geolyn Balleza ran away from her parent’s home in Minden. She is believed to have run away and is somewhere between Douglas County and the Reno/Sparks area, according to Douglas County authorities.
Storm system could bring a few inches of snow to Carson City, a foot or more at Lake Tahoe
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 03/04/2013 - 9:29amA developing storm system will move into the region beginning late Tuesday and drop into Western Nevada and the Sierra by early Wednesday, the National Weather Service in Reno reports. The system could bring up to a foot or more of snow to the Lake Tahoe area and a few inches to Carson City.
Winds will increase ahead of the storm system along the Sierra front late Tuesday afternoon, with gusts up to 50 mph by early Tuesday night.
Carson City man identified in motorcycle crash near Reno

Kyle Banko, 24, was killed was riding his sport bike on Geiger Grade toward Reno from Virginia City on Saturday afternoon, the NHP reports.

Engineering student charters a Future Fuels Club and Expo

The recent event had vehicles from throughout California and overseas to show alternative fuels. President is David Reese a local Carson High School Graduate and Engineering student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. David Reese and his team hosted hundreds of interested companies, students and peers.
Spring Savings Book Sale
