Don Q Outdoors: An annual winter escape to Southern California
Submitted by admin on Thu, 03/01/2012 - 4:16pmOn Feb. 12, Sal and Catali Quilici of Dayton and Elaine and I traveled by two convoying vehicles on U.S. 395 from Carson City to Lone Pine, Calif., which was the half-way point to our final destination of La Quinta.
It was our annual winter escape to Southern California.
The four of us had been invited to join Don and Norma Reasons of Carson City for several days at one of their friend’s home, located across from the ninth green at the PGA West – Stadium Golf Course in La Quinta.

High winds lead to three crashes in Washoe Valley

March came in like a lion, with a series of storms leaving 4 feet of new snow at North Lake Tahoe ski resorts’ upper elevations. The National Weather Service is predicting that the weather will change Friday with sunny, clear skies for the weekend.

Conservative Nevada Think Tank Publishes Sourcebook For Policymakers And Public

The 88-page sourcebook, called “Solutions 2013” is a compilation of research and policy recommendations from the Nevada Policy Research Institute addressing 39 different subject areas.
