Michael E. Fischer will portray the tenth governor of Nevada, John Sparks, at Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Wednesday, August 23, at 6:30 pm.

Buffalo Bill’s Wild West returns to Dangberg Historic Park on Saturday, August 26 at 11:00 am as the park’s final major event of the 2017 Dangberg Summer Festival.

The show features Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, Annie Oakley, the Pony Express, The Mayfield Gang and the 1st Nevada Cavalry. The Douglas High School Marching Band and western singer-songwriter Krista Jenkins return for a second year to draw the audience back in time to the frontier of the American West.

Climb aboard the Virginia & Truckee steam train as it ventures into the scenic Carson River Canyon for a special dinner and melodrama from 6 to 8 p.m. this Saturday, August 12.

A free Western Heritage Celebration returns to the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Saturday, July 22, beginning at 11:00 am.

The event’s second year will include a heritage quilting presentation, a Victorian dressing presentation, songs about local history and cowboy poetry, as well as gold panning and other children’s activities.

Sailors from the USS Nevada nuclear submarine were in Carson City on Sunday for tours of the Nevada State Museum and Nevada State Railroad Museum.

Nevadans celebrated both Flag Day and the U.S. Army’s 242nd birthday Wednesday during a ceremony at the Nevada Veterans Memorial on the state capitol grounds in Carson City.

What began 12 years ago as a music celebration in the back parking lot at Cafe at Adele’s has now grown past the confines of John Street — adjacent to the restaurant — and moves this year to Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

The Nevada National Guard is set to host its 19th annual Flag Day and U.S. Army's 242nd birthday celebration 10 a.m. this Wednesday, June 14 at the Veterans Memorial on Capitol grounds, 101 N. Carson St. in Carson City.

A major battle was fought Saturday night at Mills Park as Union and Confederate forces collided on the big field fronting William Street at the annual Nevada State Fair and Rendezvous in Carson City.

If you live anywhere within ear-shot of Mills Park, you may have heard some snaps, crackles, pops and all-out booms over the last two days.

That's because the Carson City Rendezvous is happening concurrently with the Nevada State Fair at Mills Park.

The State Fair and Rendezvous continues at Mills Park, and now you can head into the Pavilion and get your car or bike registered for the Show and Shine. Shiny cars are also welcome at the Carson Cruise - Meet and Greet's Summer Cruise Night: start out at Bully's Sports Bar and you'll convoy down to McFadden Plaza for the Fridays at the Fox Concert Series Kick-off. Shane Dwight takes the stage to get weekend off to a great start.

The 2017 Nevada State Fair returns this week to Carson City bringing four days of fun, entertainment, carnival rides, culture, music and more to Mills Park.

If you happen to be up very early on Saturday morning, you may just see some runners in the pre-dawn hours. The Reno-Tahoe Odyssey, a 178 mile relay, passes through Carson City on its way to Virginia City. A huge congratulations goes out to the Class of 2017; the Carson High graduates will get their diplomas today. The Carson City Airport will hold an Open House on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. The event takes place at the Carson City Airport, 2600 College Parkway, Carson City, Nevada. Ron’s high school freshman daughter Karyn is taking a 20th Century history and culture class that she enjoys, and she’s also decided she wants to be a film-maker. So, recently his family began a weekly movie series to chronicle the century, with an emphasis on how major events and developments affected people of each era.

Every year, Ormsby County Education Association and the Carson City School District sponsor “The Light of Education” awards, and this year’s CHS winners are Ann Britt, Johanna Davis, and first year teacher Monica Chavez who said, “I felt very shocked, honored, and blessed about winning the award.”
