Nevada State Fair lowers boom on Carson City
If you live anywhere within ear-shot of Mills Park, you may have heard some snaps, crackles, pops and all-out booms over the last two days.
That's because the Carson City Rendezvous is happening concurrently with the Nevada State Fair at Mills Park.
This means gunfighters, mountain men and soldiers have converged upon the center of the Nevada state capital along with their gun powder and firearm hardware.
While the Nevada Gunfighters are putting on their gun safety shows for visitors, entertaining them with skits full of smoke and fire, American Civil War reenacting groups are holding mock battles on the large field at Mills Park.
Infantry and cavalry had charged the center, where replica Howitzer cannon have also been firing their booming salvos.
The Nevada State Fair and Carson City Rendezvous continue tonight into Sunday before wrapping up another year of historical fun.
The fair is open until 10 p.m. tonight.
