As NCDP’s Program Manager, Ormsby will work with Nevada’s 28 conservation districts to help advance natural resource conservation and management throughout the State’s diverse rural and urban landscapes.

Carson Nugget’s 62nd Annual Community Thanksgiving Feast held Nov. 28

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, pie, and more are all served up by local volunteers including those from FISH, the Carson City Board of Supervisors, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, and dozens of cheerful community members lending a helping hand.
Parent Representative Volunteers Needed for Family Life Committee

An initial request for four (4) applications was made a month ago in October, and the district was able to appoint three (3) new members of the committee; however, the school district is still needing to fill one more seat.

Carson City agrees to settle second Camp Carson molestation lawsuit for $1.25 million
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Thu, 11/21/2019 - 11:33amThe Carson City Board of Supervisors agreed to settle a lawsuit for a total of $1,250,000 after four children were allegedly sexually abused while enrolled with Camp Carson by a 15-year-old volunteer.
The lawsuits allege that while the children were enrolled in Camp Carson Summer Camp in 2016 as Wagoneers (first graders) a 15-year-old volunteer inappropriately sexually touched the four children.

A Successful Reseeding of the Little Valley Fire Burn Scar

Over 60 volunteers showed up on the sunny morning to do their part in seeing the steep Washoe Valley mountainside just West of Franktown Road return from the ashes.

Since 1999 this group has been working to meet the needs of those with limited financial resources who are home bound or in care centers with little or no family nearby. Each year 150 to 200 visits are averaged in the Carson City area.

The reason for the difficulty is simple: every parade entry brings their own unique style of artistic expression when it comes to portraying whatever they are truly passionate about, and therefore how do you judge one over the other?
