A 41-year-old transient was arrested Monday for felony suspicion of providing false identification to avoid prosecution and being a fugitive from justice, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

A group of Corgis from Northern Nevada got together Sunday for their second annual Corgi Tahoe Takeover. There were about 30 Corgis and their owners attending. It's far fewer from the Corgi-con meet-ups in Southern and Northern California, but just as much fun. We all met at the dog beach in Carnelian Bay.

The million-selling band Rednex is in the line-up for the upcoming memorial event for Deputy Howell in Carson City on August 19. To complement their first visit to the US have they released a song and video dedicated to Deputy Howell, who was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2015.

A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday in the area of Kit Sierra Way for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

If you happen to be up very early on Saturday morning, you may just see some runners in the pre-dawn hours. The Reno-Tahoe Odyssey, a 178 mile relay, passes through Carson City on its way to Virginia City. A huge congratulations goes out to the Class of 2017; the Carson High graduates will get their diplomas today. The support received from the community of Carson City is enough to make people from all over the country want to relocate. Former students know there are no special funds available for high school clubs to organize a prom or enjoy interscholastic competition.

Join us for the first annual Spring Faire at Fuji Park in Carson City on April 15, 10 a.m. This is a free event open to the public. We are raising money for the Esperanza Foundation to help Vets with healing and for the Littlest Things that do Kindness events with animals and more for the community.

Fuji Park is located at 601 Old Clear Creek Road in Carson City.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the community of some on-going scams and frauds that occur on a regular basis. Too often we are seeing people lose money and personal information to scams. With the technology that is out there, the bad guys can hide anywhere.

It’s hard not to notice the beauty around Carson City: the mountains, the historic buildings and our Capitol, the people. We have several talented artists and photographers that capture our valley in the best light. Though the holiday season has come to an end, the students at CHS want the Carson City community to know the giving will be remembered and will continue. Carson High School's NJROTC cadets surprised their instructors James Ingram and Daniel Meyer when, two weeks before the end of the semester, they voted to adopt five families for the holidays.

Hello fellow anglers, I hope you have a safe and Happy New Year. I will be bringing in the Naw year at Topaz Lake with 500 other freezing souls. The water level is up 12 feet from this time last year, both of the boat launches will be open. The Topaz Landing Marina will be open with rental boats this year.
