Carson City arrests: Man waving knife around jailed on fugitive from justice, false ID charges

A 41-year-old transient was arrested Monday for felony suspicion of providing false identification to avoid prosecution and being a fugitive from justice, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Corgi Tahoe Takeover

A group of Corgis from Northern Nevada got together Sunday for their second annual Corgi Tahoe Takeover. There were about 30 Corgis and their owners attending. It's far fewer from the Corgi-con meet-ups in Southern and Northern California, but just as much fun. We all met at the dog beach in Carnelian Bay.

Band to perform at Carson City music festival release song, video dedicated to fallen deputy

The million-selling band Rednex is in the line-up for the upcoming memorial event for Deputy Howell in Carson City on August 19. To complement their first visit to the US have they released a song and video dedicated to Deputy Howell, who was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2015.

The Reno-Tahoe Odyssey, a 178 mile relay, passes through Carson City on its way to Virginia City. Senator Square: Giving, serving and learning is what Carson High is all about

Though the holiday season has come to an end, the students at CHS want the Carson City community to know the giving will be remembered and will continue. Carson High School's NJROTC cadets surprised their instructors James Ingram and Daniel Meyer when, two weeks before the end of the semester, they voted to adopt five families for the holidays.

Mac the Naw: New Year's 2017 brings Topaz derby and ice fishing on Sierra lakes

Hello fellow anglers, I hope you have a safe and Happy New Year. I will be bringing in the Naw year at Topaz Lake with 500 other freezing souls. The water level is up 12 feet from this time last year, both of the boat launches will be open. The Topaz Landing Marina will be open with rental boats this year.
