Several candidates, from the Democratic, Republican and Independent parties are vying for the seat of Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District, currently held by Mark Amodei who is running again to be re-elected. The 2nd Congressional District covers the northern portion of Nevada, including Carson City, and the counties of: Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humbolt, Lander, some of Lyon County, Pershing, Storey, and Washoe.

A 22-year-old man was arrested Friday for felony drug and warrant charges after deputies were called to the area for a report of suspicious circumstances.

Carson City's Bleu Cafe reopens restaurant, bar for lunch following public outcry

Carson City's Bleu Cafe closed their restaurant doors in November to focus on catering and parties, but after months of public outcry from Bleu Cafe enthusiasts, Chef Roberta Davies has opened the restaurant and bar for lunch, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The restaurant is popular for their menu that touts cooking "the old fashioned way," with every item made from scratch using real ingredients. When it closed, the public let Davies know just how upset they were.

NV Energy electric rate cut for Northern Nevada customers OK'd by commission

RENO — With the cost of living going up, it's good to hear when a bill will be going down. On Monday, the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada approved plans to lower electric rates for Northern Nevada customers beginning Jan. 1, 2020.
