The Carson City Elks Lodge is hosting a Mother's Day Champagne Brunch at 515 N. Nevada Street in Carson City on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13 beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Brunch menu features herb scrambled eggs, ham, pastry trays, fruit platter, quiche, cheese tray, coffee, and adult beverages. Champagne for adults over 21.

Cost is $12 per person.

Eagle Valley Middle School has an award-winning LEGO robotics team, and that extra-curricular falls firmly within the category of ‘STEAM.’ Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math in education is the focus of tonight’s ‘STEAM’ Night, chock-full of demonstrations, activities, experiments, and the aforementioned robots. Carson High’s more musically-inclined students can be found on the stage tonight at the Carson City Community Center for a Musical Theater and Choral Showcase. There is absolutely a little bit of everything this weekend. I think the eclectic mix of happenings is one of my favorite things about our corner of the world. The Nevada Artists Association (NAA) invites the public to the Grand Re-Opening of its gallery at 449 King Street in Carson City from 4-6 PM on Saturday, February 24. The event, which will include live music and refreshments, also marks the opening of the Winter Show, a judged show open to members and non-members alike.
The gallery, adjacent to the Brewery Arts Center complex, was refurbished during the winter and refreshed with new carpet, paint and lighting.
