Two Carson City men found in a vehicle reported stolen were arrested late Sunday for suspicion of felony burglary and other offenses after allegedly stealing several cases of alcohol from a casino storage area.

Gov. Steve Sisolak on Thursday joined the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation in announcing the selection of a vendor to provide at least 100 full-time operators to boost unemployment insurance call center capacity during a period of unprecedented demand.

Michael Moriarty took low gross honors with a 74 as the Sunday Men’s Club kicked off its season March 22 at Silver Oak Golf Course. The season was delayed because of bad weather the week prior, and play was in accordance with mandated health precautions.

Stimulus Program Information

The coronavirus relief bill passed March 27 by Congress provides payments to individuals who make less than $100,000 a year. The payment total $1,200 for each adult who makes $75,000 or less, plus $500 per child. The payment amounts decrease if you make between $75,000 and $99,000. The income is determined by your latest tax return filed with the IRS. It will use your 2019 taxes if you have filed them already, or your 2018 taxes if you haven't. The Carson City Republican Women's Club will hear former U.S. Senator from Nevada Dean Heller at its upcoming luncheon, Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Casino Fandango in Carson City. Senator Heller will address the current political atmosphere. Social time is 11 a.m. and the meeting will be called to order at 11:30 a.m.

Hello to everyone in Carson City. My name is Destiny Hernandez, and I am a senior at Carson High School. Just like all of the other seniors here at the school, I am working on my Senior Project, a graduation requirement, in order to benefit not only myself but also those animals in the community who need a home.

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 4000 block of Furnace Creek Road on five felony warrants including three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of domestic battery with a deadly weapon.

According to the arrest report, Michael Craig Henson Jr. was arrested on the original crime, which involved the use o a firearm and machete.

Nevada Commission for Women and the Nevada Women’s Suffrage Celebration Committee formed to help facilitate collaboration among organizations in Nevada to celebrate and commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment. The Virginia City Silent Riders are a group of volunteers who represent the western frontier which was often a dangerous and lawless place. When justice needed to be served, there wasn't always a Sheriff and Judge. Instead, there were honorable and righteous men and women who stepped in to deliver swift justice. These groups were known as 'vigilance committees', and they existed across the west.

Three were arrested Wednesday by the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team for suspicion of drug trafficking after a vehicle search at the Department of Parole and Probation led to the discovery of 14.9 grams of methamphetamine.

CARSON CITY — Time for golf! The Silver Oak Senior Men’s Golf Club has officially teed it up for the 2020 golf season. SOSMGC is open to golfers 55 years of age and older and all handicap levels.
