Carson City arrests: Man accused of attempted burglary, calls for cab from crime scene

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of felony attempted residential burglary, according to a sheriff's office booking report.

Isaac Edward Gray Tucker was arrested in the 1700 block of North Carson Street at 2:38 a.m. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to an East Nye Lane home for a residential burglary in progress.

A reporting party stated he was watching a male on his home security camera attempting to break into his detached garage by picking the lock on the door. He described the male and what he was wearing and stated the male got on his phone several times and was waiting in his driveway where a taxi arrived.

Carson City dispatch was able to contact a cab company and confirmed a driver had picked up a male from the location and was driving toward a north Carson Street grocery store. Other deputies went to area of the store to locate the cab driver.

Deputies met with the reporting party and got information, and confirmed the male suspect had left. Deputies asked the reporting party to provide a description of the male, which was confirmed and relayed over the radio as part of the search for the suspect, the report states.

The RP stated he watched the man on his security camera attempt to pick the lock of the garage. The suspect then went to the side of his garage and turned on a water spigot to drink some water, then placed several items in his backpack, and used his phone and waited for a cab.

A deputy and a sergeant located the cab driver pulling out of a north Carson Street motel parking lot. Deputies learned the driver picked up a male from the corner of East Nye Lane and Bunch Way who was wearing a ball cap and had a red shirt on. The driver stated he stopped his vehicle at the bottom of the stairs to the motel parking lot. Deputies on scene checked the rooms and made contact with two females and a male inside one of rooms. The male was identified as the suspect.

Based on information from the investigation, and officers locating clothing that matched the clothing description of the suspect, suspect Tucker was arrested for suspicion of attempted residential burglary. Bail: $20,000.
