Carson City woman jailed after kicking neighbor, hitting boyfriend

A 72-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday night for misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence, no financial responsibility, no registration certificate, and failure to yield right of way to pedestrian.

Preliminary work begins Monday on signal at U.S. 395 and Airport Road in Carson Valley

On Monday, Feb. 5, the Nevada Department of Transportation will begin preliminary utility work as part of an upcoming project to install a traffic signal on U.S. 395 at Airport Road and improve other highway intersections in the Carson Valley.

Welcome to the weekend, Carson City. Now that we are in November, thoughts turn to the holiday season. That means craft fairs. St. Paul’s Lutheran Family on Saliman welcomes you to their annual Craftique Open House. You’ll find the Young at Heart Seniors Club hosting a faire at the Douglas County Community Center. The Carson Nugget’s Sierra Room will be home to several artisans, vendors, and crafters during today’s wine walk. There’s quite a bit more, and plenty that doesn’t involve shopping, so take a look and have a great time.

24 businesses checked, two cited for selling alcohol to minor in Carson City compliance check

A Carson City alcohol compliance check on Friday conducted among 24 local businesses that sell alcohol resulted in 22 merchants that refused to sell alcohol to a 16-year-old female used in the operation and two businesses that failed the check.

The Nevada State Honor Guard as well as the Las Vegas Firefighters Local 1285 Pipe and Drum Corps opened services Saturday morning at the Nevada State Firefighters Memorial in Mills Park to honor two Las Vegas area firefighters who died in the line of duty last year.

The annual Harvest Train event offers an all-day wristband that allows for as many rides as you’d like, in addition to museum admission.
