Carson City deputies make arrests for trafficking, felony assault, DUI

A Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony methamphetamine trafficking and drug possession charges, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Steven William Peters, 31, was booked Saturday, 9:28 a.m. into Carson City Jail for suspicion of trafficking meth 4 to 14 grams, possession of a controlled substance (suspected heroin), misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a suspended sentence. He was arrested in the area of Arrowhead and Louise streets.

During an investigation deputies were called regarding a suspicious subject in the area. The suspect walked up to a deputy and began speaking and laughing uncontrollably, and attempted several times to put sunglasses on his face but kept missing his head, the arrest report states.

A deputy asked if he had been drinking or had done drugs. The suspect told the deputy he had had been drinking the night before and wasn’t intoxicated. He didn’t answer the question about taking drugs, the arrest report states. The man also informed deputies he had a warrant for his arrest out of California.

Deputies conducted pat down search, where a sandwich bag was recovered containing 9.4 grams of methamphetamine crystals mixed with a fine white powder.

He was asked during the pat down search if there was anything in his pockets that could stick or poke the deputy during the search. The man replied there wasn’t. The deputy recovered a syringe with suspected heroin inside, the arrest report states.

The deputy again asked if there was anything else in his pockets that would poke the officer during the search. The man again replied “no I don’t have anything else.” The officer retrieved a second uncapped syringe with suspected heroin inside, as well as a heart shaped spoon, with a small piece of cotton with dark residue.

He was arrested without incident and turned over to jail staff. He was booked for possession of a controlled substance, (heroin), trafficking 4-14 grams of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia and violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $26,500.
