CARSON CITY — The Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation and JobConnect will host a Veterans Job Club meeting and job fair on Thursday, June 21 at the JobConnect office located at 1929 N. Carson St., Carson City.

Carson City JobConnect will host a Job Club kick-off event in June specific to local veterans. The day will include an Informational and networking meeting in the morning and afternoon job fair.

The Nevada Department of Corrections is hosting a law enforcement and correctional officer fair on Saturday, April 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Carson City.

March 14, or 3.14, is jokingly referred to as ‘Pi Day’ because of its resemblance to the mathematical constant. The Tahoe Mountain Milers host a fun run every year to celebrate. If you can run 3.14 miles in a time closest to 31.4 minutes, the bragging rights, and a delicious pie, will be yours. Spaghetti is on the menu at the Nevada Governor’s Mansion where the Nurses of Western Nevada College are hosting a fundraiser.

The state of Nevada Department of Corrections is hosting a Law Enforcement-Correctional Officer Job Fair April 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Stewart Facility gym at 5500 Snyder Avenue in Carson City.

Area employers will have an opportunity to recruit Western Nevada College students for job openings during the annual job fair on Wednesday, March 14.

I’m going to apologize right now. I can’t anticipate what this storm system will throw at us, so some of these planned events could get cancelled. One event that is never afraid of Mother Nature is the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk. Come rain, shine, or blizzard, you’ll find can sip, stroll, and discover starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Carson Hot Springs aren’t afraid of a little snow, and a special visit from Megan the Mermaid will make the icy hot experience more memorable. There is absolutely a little bit of everything this weekend. There’s somewhere to volunteer, somewhere to eat some fundraising pancakes, join in an Asian New Year Lion Dance Parade, Beer Crawl in downtown Carson City, and get your Zumba on. I think the eclectic mix of happenings is one of my favorite things about our corner of the world. Whether it’s the International Film Festival, the Vagina Monologues, or telescope viewing at the WNC Observatory: you can’t tell me there is nothing to do.

Genoa Lakes Golf and Genoa Ranch Golf is having a job fair with on the spot interviews. Many different positions open for anyone that loves the outdoors, hospitality and Golf Privileges.

Carson City School District is hosting a job fair today, Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. inside Carson High School, south Senator Square, 1111 North Saliman Road. Nearly 50 positions will be available.

The Carson City School District is looking to fill a number of positions and is holding a job fair this afternoon. See what the talented students in the Symphony Youth Strings program have been up to at tonight’s "Around the World in Music" concert at the Community Center. A special candle lighting ceremony to remember loved ones takes place this evening at Fitzhenry’s Funeral Home. All those who have lost someone are welcome to participate. The Boys and Girls Club invites you to their ‘Lights on Afterschool’ event with an ice cream social, face painting, games, bounce house, S.T.E.M. labs and more. A Dodgeball battle at the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center raises money for Domestic Abuse Awareness.

Oh, wow, I just got a glance at the date. With the gorgeous weather planned for today, it’s hard to believe that Christmas is two months away. Let’s celebrate the holidays right in front of us first. The kids aren’t going to want to miss out on the Carson City Boo-nanza: trick or treating at the Community Center, crafts and activities at the Library, and Hotel Transylvania on the screen at the Aquatic Center. DJ Trivia is looking to expand their team of Trivia-masters: head to Red’s Old 395 tonight if you’d like to audition, or just play.

Some weekends are pretty cut and dry, just a few things to choose among. This, however, is not one of those weekends. High-flying, death-defying action takes over the Minden Airport as the Aviation Roundup Air Show takes to the skies. Pasta-lovers won’t want to miss the Eldorado Great Italian Festival in downtown Reno. Carson City’s monthly Downtown Wine Walk gets a dose of nostalgia as the Western Airstream Convention sets up shop and welcomes the curious.

It's National Register to Vote Day - Carson residents can go to the County Clerk's office in the Courthouse. While you're there, head to the CCAI Gallery on the second floor to catch the last few days of the 'Industrial Art: Sports Edition' exhibit.

This morning, I came upon an interesting topic while working with a client during Motivation Monday at Adams Hub for Innovation. The topic of our conversation turned to research.
