Let’s give this outdoors thing another try. Yesterday’s Jazz and beyond performances were moved indoors at the Brewery Arts Center when the rain hit, but I have more hope for today’s skies. Look for The Other Brothers Band this evening in the Comma Coffee Courtyard. Carson City BMX hosts practice and racing at the track in the Livermore Sports Complex; all ages are invited to participate, and one day memberships are available for those who’d like to try it out.

Tazmanian Boxing Club moves to new location in Carson City

Tazmanian Boxing Club, which has distinguished itself over past few years as more than a boxing gym, has moved to a new and much larger location at 3737 North Carson Street in Carson City.

Casting Call: Casino themed TV show pilot with Joe Piscopo to be filmed at Carson Nugget

CARSON CITY — A new sitcom called “Casino Boss” starring comedian, movie star and Saturday Night Live alum, Joe Piscopo, is filming in the Carson Nugget Casino, located at 507 N. Carson Street. Show producers are holding a casting call for extras to appear in the pilot at Alatte inside the Nugget Tuesday, August 7 from 4-7 p.m.

Food truck lovers won’t want to miss out on Wheeled Wednesday at the Brewery Arts Center.

New home for Partnership Carson City, United Latino Community

Community outreach coordinator with Partnership Carson City, Tasha Martel, sets up office furniture recently at its new North Carson Street home. Partnership Carson City, along with United Latino Community, has moved to the Frontier Plaza, at 1925 N. Carson St. The 3,595-square-foot space will give the organizations much more room than at the former 2,200-square-foot location. A grand opening will be held once the move-in is complete.
