Carson City celebrated the grand re-opening of the newly remodeled Bob Boldrick Theatre in style with a black tie gala Tuesday night.

"Winterflix," a play on the popular Netflix streaming service, was the theme this year at the 2019 Winterfest week at CHS with dress-up days and night-time activities all week long. Some of the events included the Netflix show, "Stranger Things," a Twins Day, "Riverdale," "The Office," and even the ever popular once-a-month Dress for Success competition.

The Desert Sage Trading Company will be hosting an artist reception at their Carson City shop, located at 2151 Lone Mountain, from 5 pm to 8 pm Friday evening.

The title of the show is “Beautiful Beasts and the Interconnection of Being.”

Pin-ups On Tour’s Nationally Touring Production is set to perform in the area thanks to a partnership with Local Venue. Get dolled up and join these gals for a Vintage Burlesque & Variety Show that supports hospitalized Veterans. The group works to recreate the bawdy fun of vaudevillian theaters so popular across America during and post-WWII.

Hello Carson City and welcome to Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019. With snow plow efforts underway and a warm-up from Mother Nature, it looks like the morning commute will be a slushy one. Carson City schools will operate today at normal start times. An 82 year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. in the 200 block of Allouette Way on felony battery with a deadly weapon charge, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

Silver City Arts and Carson City artists are forming a sister city alliance.

The event takes place Saturday, December 1, 2018 in the Silver City Schoolhouse Community Center located at 385 High Street in Silver City from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Homecoming Week is a fun-filled time at CHS with a frenzy of activities and celebrations to honor the high school and its students.

Calvary Chapel Carson Valley's Harvest Festival will take place on Oct. 31, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. It is a warm and safe alternative to Halloween located at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Pinenut Road.
