Good morning Carson City and happy Saturday! Today we’ve got a packed day of activities, including Carson City’s Proudest Pride event, Sassabration! In addition, we’ve got the Capital City Kid’s Triathlon, the farmers market, a Carson Street car show, and more!

The Mother Hips, car show, kids triathlon and more: Carson City region in store for eventful weekend

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events and activities around the Carson City region to help the next three days breeze by. On Friday, Muscle Powered will host a morning walk at the Carson City Multi-Use Path at 8 a.m. And there's coin press demonstrations at the Nevada State Museum.

CARSON CITY, Nev. – Carson City Triad presents “Get Your Ducks in a Row – Legal Documents Every Senior Should Have” by Colby Prout of Nevada Legal Services Tuesday, May 21 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive. The event is free and open to the public.

Participants who attend will learn about intestate succession, small estates, will basics, avoiding probate and will be provided with information about powers of attorney.

Carson City's Phyllis Ray celebrates 100th birthday at Senior Center

Phyllis Ray celebrated her 100th birthday at the Carson City Senior Center this Monday, May 13, 2019 during the Center's congregate lunch. Phyllis, who regularly plays bridge at the center, was surrounded by senior center clients and staff, Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell and 18 of her family and friends.

Second Wind Thrift Store Celebrates Grand Re-Opening

CARSON CITY, Nev. – Second Wind Thrift Store is celebrating their grand re-opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and special comments from Mayor Bob Crowell on Saturday, May 4, at 10 a.m. Second Wind Thrift Store is located near the Carson City Senior Center, 901 Beverly Drive, Carson City.

The first 100 customers will receive free hot dogs, cookies and bottled waters. All customers will receive 50 percent off their purchases of every item in the store, excluding books.

Carson City Elks deliver $1,500 donation to Meals on Wheels

The Carson City Elks recently donated $1,500 to the Carson City Senior Center's Meals on Wheels program. The money was made through its annual Murder Mystery Play. The Kiwanis Club of Carson City is hosting its annual Pasta Feed to benefit Meals on Wheels Carson City this Saturday, April 13, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive.

Tickets are $6, and include pasta, garlic bread, salad, beverage and dessert. Kids under 5 eat free.
