Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called and a Care Flight helicopter ordered for a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon involving a vehicle in the 3500 block of Highway 50 East near Brown Street.

A Dayton mother and two children were struck head-on late Saturday night by a suspected drunk driver going the wrong way near Flint Drive on Highway 50 East in Carson City, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Region's first responders to be honored during Dayton Valley Days

First responders who serve the greater Dayton area are being honored during the annual Dayton Valley Days 2016 street festival.

UPDATE 12:50AM: Both Care Flight helicopters have lifted from the scene carrying two critically injured patients to Renown Medical Center in Reno. Two others have been taken by ground ambulance.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Westbound traffic has been opened. Eastbound traffic remains closed at Deer Run Road.

UPDATE 12:34AM: A third Care Flight helicopter, which was coming from Fallon, has been canceled. The critically injured patient will be taken by ambulance to Renown Medical Center in Reno. Two helicopters are on the way.

Three in custody, victim sustains non-life-theatening injuries after fight near Kings Canyon trailhead

UPDATE 11:30PM: The victim of a battery that happened early Tuesday night suffered non-life threatening injuries following a fight that he started with three men near the Kings Canyon Waterfall trailhead, a Carson City sheriff’s detective said.
The victim and the suspects had been drinking together and were hiking when the victim started the fight with the three males, said Detective Sam Hatley.
The victim suffered injuries to his head and a laceration. Because of the injuries, he was flown as a precaution to Renown Medical Center.
The three suspects were charged with misdemeanor battery after it was determined they continued the assault, kicking the man while he was on the ground and defenseless. All four men were intoxicated and are transients.

NHP investigates early Sunday crash on South Carson Street that injured Douglas teen

A crash early Sunday morning in Carson City that seriously injured a Douglas High School senior who was driving home from work remains under investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The adult driver of a Subaru who hit the 17-year-old female also remains in the hospital. Alcohol is being investigated as a possible factor at the time of the crash, law enforcement officers said.

Carson City emergency crews called to motorcycle crash at Saliman and Fifth Street

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Sunday night to a crash involving a motorcycle and vehicle in the area of Fifth Street and Saliman.
The crash was reported at 8:48 p.m. The motorcycle rider was reportedly on the ground and bleeding.

UPDATE 1:30AM: One person was flown by Care Flight following a crash involving two vehicles that rolled over early Sunday morning on South Carson Street. A second person was transported to Renown Medical Center. Their injuries are unknown at this time.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called at 8:19 p.m. Friday night to an accident involving a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 500 block of Washoe Street on tribal land, near Curry Street.

UPDATE 407PM: A Nevada Highway Patrol trooper reports that the incident on Highway 50 eastbound lane near Spooner junction involved a female motorcycle passenger who fell off the back of a motorcycle. She suffered back injuries and was taken via ambulance.

Emergency crews respond to four-vehicle crash at northbound I-580 onramp

UPDATE 7PM: One person has been flown to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno and one has been taken by ground ambulance following a four-vehicle crash on the I-580, Highway 50 East onramp. Two others suffered minor injuries.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. At this time the make and models of the vehicles involved is unknown. Also unknown are the conditions and identities of the two patients seriously injured.

A 39-year-old Carson City man died Friday after being flown Wednesday by Care Flight following an incident between him and his roommate in which the victim was found unconscious, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said.

Elderly woman beaten at north Carson City home, son in custody

UPDATE 8:26PM: A Carson City man is in custody after attempting to beat his mother to death Tuesday afternoon at an Arrowhead Drive home, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said.

Douglas Taladay, 40, is in custody at Carson City Jail and faces charges of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon, elderly enhancement and preventing a victim from calling 911. His bail is set at $500,000. Taladay admitted the crimes to investigators, said Furlong.

Carson City emergency crews called to vehicle crash involving pedestrian

UPDATE 10:55PM: An adult female was flown Saturday night by Care Flight following a mishap with a single vehicle in which she was a passenger, a Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant said.
The passenger attempted to get out of the vehicle when she thought the driver had it in park. The vehicle was in reverse and backed out, injuring the woman, said Sgt. Daniel Gonzales.
No charges will be filed. The condition of the victim is unknown at this time. When she left by ambulance she was conscious and alert, Gonzales said.

A robbery at a north Carson City convenience store early Thursday morning ended when the suspect jumped inside a Carson City sheriff’s patrol car, fought with a deputy inside the car, rammed the car into a second patrol car and then plowed through a fence into an apartment building storage unit.

Care Flight Expands to 24-Hour, 7-Day Service in Fallon

FALLON, Nev. – Care Flight is expanding its hours of service of the emergency medical helicopter based at Banner Churchill Community Hospital to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Since April 2015, the helicopter has been available at the hospital 12 hours a day, seven days a week.

Carson City emergency crews were called at 9:50 p.m. Thursday night to a crash involving an overturned semi-truck at the northbound Fairview on-ramp of I-580.

Two Care Flight ambulances sent to Dayton crash at Highway 50 and Six Mile Canyon Road

UPDATE 10:30AM: From Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Duncan Dauber: Two people involved in a crash at Highway 50 and Six Mile Canyon Road near Dayton this morning were flown by Care Flight and, at this time, have non-life threatening injuries.

The injured motorists are an adult female from Silver Springs driving a red Ford Explorer and an adult male, also from Silver Springs, driving silver Ford F150 truck.

Two helicopters landed at Fort Churchill Road to take the two injured motorists to Renown Medical Center in Reno.

Carson City Search and Rescue find families stuck in canyon, one flown by Care Flight

Two SUVs that became stuck in the mud overnight in El Dorado Canyon southeast of Carson City were found Monday morning. One person was flown by Care Flight for an injury, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue official said.

Emergency crews, Care Flight called to crash on Highway 50 near Mound House

UPDATE 5:30PM MONDAY: Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday that involved a black Ford Excursion and a black Honda Civic, according the Nevada Highway Patrol.

NHP Trooper Duncan Dauber reports the driver of the Honda, from Silver Springs, was injured after the vehicle rolled over and he was pinned briefly inside. He was flown by Care Flight with serious but non-life threatening injuries. A juvenile passenger in the Honda had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.

The Honda rear-ended the Ford in the eastbound lane at Highway 50 near Affonso Drive, said Trooper Dauber. The driver of the Ford Excursion, from Yerington, was not injured.

Lyon County and Carson City rescue crews, the Nevada Highway Patrol and Care Flight were called to a crash Sunday off of Highway 50 in Mound House at Affonso Drive near the Shell station.

The crash was reported to NHP at 4:54 p.m. with dispatch advising that at least two vehicles were involved.

A motorcycle rider was flown by Care Flight after it crashed into a school bus Friday afternoon in Dayton. The crash happened near the intersection of Fortune and Monte Cristo. The was reported to be at least one student on the bus and they were not injured, according to scanner reports.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called to a vehicle crash with injuries on the I-580 freeway in the southbound lane.

A dirt biker was injured Saturday evening in the Kings Canyon area, with Carson City Search and Rescue responding, according to emergency dispatch.

A Care Flight helicopter was called at 7:39 p.m. to pick up the injured off-road motorcycle rider as he was being brought down from the canyon by search and rescue and the Carson City Fire Department.

Multiple Carson City emergency units called to injury crash on North Carson Street

UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's office patrol units were called Thursday night to a vehicle crash in the 3100 block of North Carson Street in which two were injured including an 11-year-old girl who was briefly trapped in a vehicle.

The girl was flown by Care Flight to the trauma unit at Renown Medical Center in Reno, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Scott McDaniel.

UPDATE 1:27PM: A Nevada Highway Patrol dispatcher says NHP is able to confirm two people were taken to Renown Medical Center in Reno and that Care Flight was called to the scene. The two had minor injuries, the dispatcher said. It is unclear how many other people were taken to Carson Tahoe Hospital, the dispatcher said. An NHP trooper had said earlier that up to five people were taken to the hospital, between Carson City and Reno. There were two crashes that happened, the first at 11:09 a.m. and the second and more serious reported to NHP at 11:38 a.m.
