Aberrations await and spirits linger during a two-hour walking tour July 23, Aug. 20 and Sept. 24 through the historic district of Carson City.
History and storytelling are the orders of the day on this tour through Victorian-style homes and neighborhoods, where reality and legend come together, leaving ghost walkers to wonder what is truth and what is fiction.

An all-vehicle show and shine is set for Sunday, May 1 at Les Schwab Tire Center, 3219 North Carson Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Show and Shine, which features music, food venders and a raffle is called "Les Schwab Making a Difference" and is presented by Capital Classic Productions.

KARSON KRUZERS event is FREE, open to all cars, and attendees are encourage to “dress up” for the sock hop! The whole family will enjoy the cars, music, and dancing! DJ will be the ROCKIN’ REV. KEN HASKINS!

A support table will be set up for local 14 year old McKENNA MITCHELL, who has bone cancer. Donations will go to help with medical expenses and care. Come show McKenna that her community cares and is there to help!

Friday night shined in all shapes, sizes and hearts for McKenna Mitchell, a Carson City teen stricken with bone cancer. While McKenna wasn't able to attend because of chemotherapy treatments, Carson City put on a car show the 14-year-old girl would be proud of. The event was held at Kragen-O'Reilly's.

There were 66 entries in the Show and Shine, with all proceeds going to help McKenna's family with medical costs, according to organizers Holly and Kenson Seymour.

The community is invited to a benefit Car Show and Shine for McKenna Mitchell, a local 14-year old girl with bone cancer.
The car show is on Friday, Sept. 17 at Kragen-O'Reilly's, 1715 N. Carson Street, in Carson City from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $10 per car, truck, motorcycle, etc. Employees will be giving awards to some of the best vehicles that show. Dayton Valley Days Committee is welcoming entries to both the general parade on Saturday, September 18, and to the Pet Parade on Sunday, September 19, 2010. This year’s parade will feature retired Nevada State Archivist Guy Rocha and well-known Dayton Valley rancher Kay Winters as Grand Marshals. Here are the 2010 winners of the Carson City Silver Dollar Car Classic held this weekend at Mills Park. The event brought hundreds of car enthusiasts to Carson City for the weekend before many moved on to Reno for the Hot August Nights celebration.

Among the winners, there were three speciality picks. These winners and the images of their cars will be featured on T-shirts and advertisements for next year's event. They are:

Hundreds of car enthusiasts from Nevada and California made their way to Mills Park in Carson City today for the annual Carson City Silver Dollar Car Classic.
The car show, which continues through Sunday, is among the region's biggest draws, with more than 300 restored, tricked-out, and souped-up cars and trucks on display.
Saturday's ideal weather conditions and the tree coverage of Mills Park made it a great event for the entire family, organizers said.
