A man and woman were arrested Christmas morning for suspicion of felony burglary after they were seen on surveillance video attempting to break into a safe belonging to their employer, a Carson City sheriff's deputy report states.

Hundreds return to work at Carson City's Casino Fandango

Casino Fandango, the largest casino in Carson City, opened its doors at 8 a.m. today. As announced by Gov. Steve Sisolak, Phase 2 of Nevada's Roadmap to Recovery allows gaming to resume Thursday.

Nevada's economy was one of the most affected in the country during the COVID-19 pandemic; the initial reopening of Casino Fandango means that over 350 team members are able to go back to work and provide for their families.

Visitors to the Nevada State Museum in Carson City this Tuesday, Feb. 4, will find themselves in history’s front row as the museum celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Carson City Mint. Just as it did 150 years earlier to the day, the Mint’s Coin Press No. 1 will be pressing silver coins, complete with the famous “CC” mint mark.
