Carson City deputies arrest man for auto theft, woman for allegedly biting son

A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony grand larceny of an vehicle, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Ronnie Davis was taken into custody at 9:40 a.m. in the 3900 block of Highway 50 East. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the area of August Drive in regards to a man who was going door to door asking for money. Dispatch advised the subject was deaf, wearing a red shirt and tan pants.

Upon arrival a deputy located Davis, who matched the description, in the 3900 block of Highway 50 East. Davis was also a suspect in a vehicle grand larceny that happened Dec. 21.

The owner of the stolen vehicle, a black Cadillac 4-door sedan, told authorities Davis had stolen his car after he agreed he would drive him to the Social Security Office in Reno. The owner said he started up the vehicle and Davis was in the passenger seat.

The victim said he got out of the vehicle to lock the door to his residence when Davis allegedly took off with the vehicle and drove away. The vehicle was recovered Saturday in a canyon. Bail: $25,000.

In other arrests:
— A 53-year-old Carson City woman, Antoinette M. Sims, was arrested in the 300 block of South Carson Meadows for a felony fugitive from justice warrant issued Oct. 17, 2018 out of Fresno, Calif. She was placed on a no bail hold awaiting extradition.

— A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for a parole and probation violation hold, a felony, misdemeanor domestic battery second offense, and violation of a suspended sentence.

Jennifer Renee Hamm was taken into custody at 12:26 p.m. in the area of 20 College Parkway.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to an apartment for a domestic battery. The suspect was identified by the woman’s son and a second victim, who told deputies they were in an altercation earlier in the morning with Hamm.

The woman’s son said he was awoken by the woman who was yelling at the male victim, and saw her hitting him in the face. The son said he restrained his mother. The woman calmed down but then grabbed the male victim by the shirt, ripping it. During the altercation the male victim received scratches on his left forearm and showed deputies of the injuries, the arrest report states.

The son told deputies that during the altercation that he was bit by his mother. He showed the investigating deputy a bite mark on his right shoulder blade.

The woman admitted to being in an argument with the male victim and biting her son as he was restraining her, the arrest report states. She could not explain how she bit him on his back.

She denied hitting or battering the other male victim. Based on the injuries and the statements made by the two victims, the woman was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Her criminal history showed she was found guilty of domestic battery in the past. The Department of Alternative Sentencing asked the woman be placed on P&P hold for violation of probation, a felony. Bail: $11,000.

— A 47-year-old Mound House woman was booked into jail Sunday, 9 p.m. for three misdemeanor warrants including failure to appear in traffic court and violation of conditions. The warrants were issued Nov. 20 and Aug. 23. Bail: $4,140.

— A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 12:39 p.m. in the 400 block of Fairview Drive for misdemeanor suspicion of soliciting. He had been cited a few days prior for soliciting after holding a cardboard sign and approaching vehicles at Walmart. Bail: $87.
