Carson City’s Turkey Trot, Gobble Wobble brings a crowd of dedicated Thanksgiving runners
The 2019 Turkey Trot and Gobble Wobble started bright and early Thanksgiving morning after an overnight snow flurry or two turned the Governor’s Mansion into a Carson City winter wonderland.
Participants gathered for the annual 5K, 8K and Kid’s Mile hosted by St. Teresa Of Avila Catholic School.
The 5K and 8K runners took off at 8:30 a.m. while the Gobble Wobble began at 8:45 a.m.
The Wobbly Goblins were made to follow a turkey guide; however, the little runners became a little side tracked and found a shortcut on Robinson Street, cutting their Kid’s Mile short.
Winners in each division and age group were gifted with Costco pumpkin pies in time for the feasting later in the day.
