Carson City and Lake Tahoe area road report through Nov. 9
Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of Nov. 3-9: Beginning Monday, Nov. 3, through Thursday, Nov. 6, there will be maintenance work along S. Edmonds Drive between Fairview Drive and Clearview Drive. There will be flagger controlled traffic with minor delays expected.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 3, through Wednesday, Nov. 5, Telegraph Street will be closed between Carson Street and Curry Street due to utility work. Detours will be signed.
There will be shoulder work and periodic lane closures on Goni Road north of Arrowhead Drive and on Arrowhead Drive east of Goni Road Monday through Friday due to utility work. Minor delays are expected.
The Nevada Department of Transportation will be completing road work on Highway 50 from Arrowhead Drive in Carson City to Baldwine Lane in Mound House. There will be intermittent lane closures in both directions throughout the week.
There will be work primarily in the shoulder E. Fifth Street from Parkland Avenue to Saliman Road from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday. Elaine Street will remain closed to through traffic from Monday through Sunday. Please follow marked detour.
There will be shoulder work on Fairview Drive south of Butti Way and on Fairview Drive south of the Fifth Street roundabout Monday through Friday. No delays are expected.
The sidewalk on the north side of W. Proctor Street will be closed between Carson Street and Curry Street Monday through Friday.
Elsewhere around Lake Tahoe and the Sierra, Caltrans reports the following road construction projects through Nov. 8, 2014: State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $41 million project from Tahoma to the "Y" junction with State Route 28 in Tahoe City on Lake Tahoe’s West Shore that will upgrade storm water drainage and treatment systems, add curb and gutter, resurface and realign the road, add new left-turn pockets and widen shoulders on a 9-mile stretch of the highway.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from McKinney Drive South to McKinney Drive North in Tahoma: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon Friday for drainage work.
State Route 89 (Placer County): Work is complete on a $4 million project from the "Y" junction of State Routes 28/89 in Tahoe City to Alpine Meadows Road making drainage and slope corrections on about a 4-mile stretch of Highway 89.
State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $20 million water-quality project from 0.1 mile north of the Eagle Falls Sidehill Viaduct No. 5 in Emerald Bay to the Meeks Creek Bridge in Meeks Bay. This project is adding new drainage features, curb and gutter in some locations, and resurfacing a nearly 7-mile stretch of the highway. Completion is expected in fall 2015.
Nov. 3-7: State Route 89 (Placer County) from 3 Ring Road to 1 Ring Road in Rubicon Bay North: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for drainage work.
State Route 28 (Placer County): Work is going into winter suspension on Placer County’s $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. The project is installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work is complete on a $15.3 million water-quality project from Johnson Pass Road to Incline Road in Meyers to install new drainage systems, widen shoulders and add bike lanes in one section, and restore a section of the exiting bike path.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $15.1 million project to replace the bridge over Sly Park Road in Pollock Pines. The project will also add sidewalks to both sides of Sly Park Road, curb and gutter and curb ramps. Completion is expected by spring 2015. Highway 50 is reduced to one lane in each direction through the construction area.
Nov. 3: U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Sly Park Road: Eastbound motorists can expect the highway closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday for K-rail removal. Motorists will be diverted to the Sly Park Road off-ramp and then back onto the eastbound Highway 50 on-ramp.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $57 million project by El Dorado County to construct a new overcrossing over U.S. Highway 50, new on- and off-ramps with signalized intersections, and new bicycle and pedestrian facilities at Silva Valley Parkway in El Dorado Hills. Completion is expected in 2016. For more information on this project, go to http://www.edcgov.us/SIlvaValley.aspx No traffic-interfering work is scheduled on the highway. The contractor is working behind K-rail.
State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from Sierra Real Road to Missouri Flat Road in Diamond Springs: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.
State Route 89 (Placer County) from the junction with State Route 28 in Tahoe City to Twin Crags Drive: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for tree work.
State Route 193 (El Dorado County) from Sweetwater Trail in Greenwood to Main Street in Georgetown: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday for grinding and paving.
