Carson City Sheriff's Office responds to complaints of gunshots fired in city limits near homes

A solid Russian Olive Tree was no match for the winds. Wind meter had a gust of 37 mph just about the time the tree went over. That was our main shade for the back yard. Sad."

Carson City neighborhood has experienced flooding for 50 years, a solution is now in sight
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Wed, 12/04/2019 - 2:27pmA 50-year-old flooding issue in a Carson City neighborhood could finally see a solution with the “North Carson Area Drainage Plan” proposed by Carson City Public Works.
According to Robert Fellows, P.E., Chief Stormwater Engineer for Public Works, an issue involving flooding or “ponding” in a particular Carson City neighborhood has been on the books as an issue since Carson City was still Ormsby County, going back to the 1970s.
Man booked on felony charges after leading deputies on chase, claims he's escaped police three times before

Tuesday Evening Hike - Goni Road hosted by Muscle Powered
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 04/26/2019 - 2:53pmJoin our free leader-led hikes each week to enjoy Nevada outdoors! Meet just east of the gates for the Cinderlite mine on Goni Road. Water and sturdy closed-toed shoes are required. Hat, sunscreen and hiking poles recommended.
Tuesday evening hikes begin at 5:30 pm and will be 4-6 miles in length. If it is raining, snowing and/or conditions of trail is not safe, hikes will be cancelled.
